How this calculator works

Your yearly pay is your hourly rate times the hours you work in a week, times the number of weeks you're paid.

Annual pay = hourly rate × hours per week × paid weeks per year

Overtime hours, if you add them, are paid at the multiplier you choose and added to each week. Monthly pay is annual pay divided by 12, so it's an average: some months have more paydays than others. Biweekly pay is annual pay divided by 26 paychecks, and semimonthly is divided by 24.

Example

At $25 an hour, 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year:

Pay periodGross pay
Weekly$1,000
Biweekly$2,000
Monthly (average)about $4,333
Annual$52,000

A quick shortcut: at 40 hours a week, double your hourly rate and add three zeros. $25 × 2 = 50, so roughly $50,000 (the exact figure is $52,000).
