How this calculator works

New pay = current pay × (1 + raise ÷ 100)
Raise % = (new pay − current pay) ÷ current pay × 100

For hourly pay, the yearly difference is the hourly raise times your paid hours per year. Because U.S. income tax is progressive, a raise can push some income into a higher bracket, but only the dollars above the bracket line are taxed at the higher rate.

Example

A 3% raise on $50,000 is $1,500 a year, bringing pay to $51,500. That's $125 more a month on average, or about $57.69 more per biweekly paycheck before taxes.
