How this calculator works
The generator lists the chapters in order and divides them as evenly as possible across your days, so each day's reading is about the same length.
Chapters per day = total chapters ÷ days
Days needed = total chapters ÷ chapters per day
Chapter counts follow the 66-book Protestant canon. Catholic and Orthodox Bibles include additional books, and some readers prefer chronological or mixed Old and New Testament plans. Chapter length varies a lot, so some days will take longer than others.
Example
Reading the whole Bible (1,189 chapters) in 365 days works out to about 3.3 chapters a day. The New Testament (260 chapters) in 90 days is about 2.9 chapters a day.
