How this calculator works

Every week has 168 hours (24 × 7). The calculator converts daily amounts to weekly ones, adds up your commitments, and shows what's left.

Free time = 168 − (sleep × 7) − work − commute − chores − family − (personal care × 7) − other

Seeing the real number helps you plan goals you can keep. If free time is tight, the table shows where the hours are going.

Example

With 8 hours of sleep a night, a 40-hour work week, a 40-minute daily commute 5 days a week, and the other defaults on this page, you have about 30.7 free hours a week, or roughly 4.4 hours a day.
